Snacking in the Stacks

I made it! I am officially in the library ON A SATURDAY! It really took a lot of effort, and a trip to Target to check out their Garden Party that I saw on Steak & Cake's Blog before I was really ready to deal with my educational commitments.
Everything from the collection was very floral and feminine. It inspires springtime feelings of warmth, blooms and happiness. Since I was on the prowl for some gift wrapping inspiration I discovered that this line even extends into the stationary department. If anyone has a birthday, shower, wedding or they just want to give a pretty little something to someone they love, check it out. I actually ended up picking out a gift bag with matching tissue.

I'm popping M&Ms since I just spent $175.00 on an Economics textbook.
Page one already has me confused.

Sigh. Ladies, you all enjoy whatever wonderful adventures Saturday has in store for you. I'll be thinking of you.

Honestly...

I'm proud to be a Cyclone. I'm even more proud to know I am attending class with students like A. Merchant. Thank God for honesty.

I just had to share this response to a question posed by Iowa State Daily staff writers.
Question: What have you done in the dorms that you wouldn't have done if you had known a camera was near by?
Answer:

Enough said on this topic.

Edward Cullen vs. David

I'm in search of my own Edward Cullen, but is it bad that he is going to be 17 forever?
I am currently reading Book Three of the vampire series, Twilight. I can honestly say I am in a vampire-like mood. To further my pop-culture knowledge on the subject I rented Lost Boys last night. My DVD player pooped out on me so I find myself curled up in bed watching a lot of rented movies on my laptop. I didn't make it through the entire movie due to my exhausted stupor, but I was violently awaken when my laptop slid off my satin quilt and crashed to the floor. Startled I looked up from my sleep.

Now, you are either going to think I'm crazy or crazy in a funny way, but I kid you not I thought I saw Kiefer Sutherland's character crawling up to my face! I haven't had as vivid a dream in a long time. I was concerned for my heart, but here I am blogging, so I am pretty sure I'm going to make it.
As if Lost Boys wasn't terrifying enough, I also rented Mirrors. Kiefer Sutherland also stars in this more current horror film. This time he is a cop without a job working as a security guard in a department store that has been closed due to a deadly fire. Mirrors are causing chaos. I'm thrilled that I work in an industry that survives on mirrors.
I am thoroughly traumatized at this point.
I'm popping Orbit gum like candy and blown away that Jerry Springer still has a TV show.
Ah! I just saw blurred out butt crack.

Gumby also stopped by mi casa this afternoon. He delivered his famous Pokie Sticks, half and half pepperoni and cheese pizza and my liquid courage, Mountain Dew. Delicious. I'm a stuffed Cyclone.
Gumby's Pizza & Wings is definitely a college tradition. Let's just say, I'm a happy panda right now.

Booze Before Books and Bulldog Love

School is certainly keeping me busy. I took a sorely needed break from my studies and ventured out for an ever so exciting night in Ames, Iowa. It was such a typical college experience. Everything in Ames caters towards college students, and the bar scene is no exception. Any budget conscious consumer can appreciate the incredibly cheap drink specials. In fact, for the indulgent cost of only $3 I was served my drink in a giant mason jar. It was cheap liquor, but that's the idea. I got my fill of drunk frat boys, overly tan girls, and a questionable acoustics.
I heart Ames hardcore!

In need of some love I received it in the form of Zoey, a Bulldog puppy. She is like a furry, snorting worm. In other words, amazing.

I went to a wonderfully dive bar and grill, Whiskey Tango, for lunch today with a friend from school. My body was craving Diet Coke and protein. I discovered heaven in the shape of fried food served in a basket. I fell for beer battered French fries.
Zoeys barks, "Hi."

It is freezing in Ames. I am so cold that every set of cheeks on my body are desparate for warmth. I suppose I'm going to have to make myself a mug of hot cocoa before layering myself in blankets.

I made fajitas. They turned out like I cooked them. I ate them. I'm full and addicted to blogging.

Derby Dress

Here is the question: Does the hat match the dress or does the dress match the hat?

May 2ND will be here before any of us knows it. Preparations for the event of the year starts months in advance. My pal Piper's Annual Derby Party is a legacy in the making. I imagine us as old women still wearing outrageous hats sipping bourbon and betting on horses with names like Massive Drama and Cool Coal Man. Let the dress shopping begin! I found this absolutely fantastic Donna Ricco dress on Nordstrom.com. While the cut would be extremely flattering for my voluptuous figure it is a tad out of my budget. It is a garment that I'd never take off. It'd be such a fun challenge to pair it up with a lovely pair of red kitten heels and of course the perfect hat.

Purrr

My life is missing something, and in the process of discovering what that may be I think I may have found my temporary soul mate. I'm a huge fan of PetFinder.com, and I can spend hours searching dogs and cats in need of loving home all over the entire state of Iowa. My dream job would be working for the ASPCA. In fact, I've given some thought into interning for them next summer.
Cats don't particularly like car rides, so the closer to home I can adopt one the better. I had my heart set on a female named Harlow, but this little guy "meows" to my heart.

Ole!

I am going to be celebrating St. Patrick's Day in a city famous for dyeing its river green, and I am not talking about Chicago. I have had enough of the cold weather. Bye bye Midwest. I am heading south to San Antonio to visit my relocated sister. In preperation I am going to need some serious packing advice since the airlines now charge at least $15 per piece of luggage. I've never traveled on such restrictions.

Fridog!

It is Friday! I have one class at 11 A.M.
It is -11 degrees outside.
Is it worth the treacherous CyRide expedition?
Yesterday I was crammed onto a bus with 80 other students. I feel incredibly bad for the poor soul who had my rear in his face.
Has anyone else had any bad experiences riding public transportation?
